Advisory committee to discuss women in construction

The next Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health meeting will focus on updates about the industry and reports from committee work groups. There will be a discussion about women in construction and a time for public comments. The virtual meeting is open to the public and scheduled for 9 a.m. EST on February 22.

DOL seeks nominations for national advisory committee

The DOL is looking to fill a labor representative vacancy on its 16-member Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health that advises the Secretary of Labor. This individual would serve until December 31, 2024. Nominations are due by February 23.

NIOSH is hosting an upcoming webinar to explore the work-related exposures that wildland firefighters face and discuss the new NIOSH National Firefighter Registry for Cancer. This session is part of a series devoted to the safety and health of employees in extreme working conditions. The webinar is scheduled for February 14.

DWC launches new webinar series

DWC has launched the CompCourses webinar series for employers and adjusters, offering free continuing education credits. The first webinar, Return to Work, will focus on the benefits of an early return to work (RTW) following an illness or injury, including how this reduces lost time, turnover and employer costs. Tools will be provided that can help adjusters and employers work together to improve their RTW outcomes. This webinar takes place on February 21.
