Texas Mutual Insurance Company offers college scholarships to qualified surviving family members of employees who die from an on-the-job accident, and to persons whose injuries qualify them for lifetime income benefits (LIBs) pursuant to the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act and their spouses and unmarried children. The Texas Mutual® scholarship program provides up to $6,000 for tuition and fees per individual per semester, and up to $600 for course-related books and supplies.
Scholarship qualificationsThe Texas Mutual® scholarship program is open to:
- surviving, unmarried spouses and unmarried surviving children of an individual who died as a result of a work-related injury,
- persons whose severe injuries qualify them for lifetime income benefits (LIBs) under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act,
- the spouses and unmarried children of persons whose severe injuries qualify them for LIBs under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act.
The employee’s company must have been a Texas Mutual® policyholder at the time of the accident.
The Texas Mutual® scholarship program is not an automatic benefit. The decision to offer a scholarship rests solely with Texas Mutual Insurance Company and may be altered or discontinued at any time without notice.
