Texas Mutual employees raise $188,224 for United Way through our largest annual fundraiser
Over 980 employees from across our Texas Mutual offices came together virtually in the spring to support the United Way, one of our longstanding partners, in our largest annual fundraiser. While our month-long campaign certainly looked different this year, employees showed our spirit for giving back by raising a company record of $188,224 for the United Way.
Throughout the campaign, employees donated to the United Way and learned through virtual events how their contributions support its various programs including the 2-1-1 Navigation Center, Early Matters Greater Austin, Emerging Leaders and Women United.
To continue doing our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping our employees and communities safe, we reimagined this year’s campaign. Our employees rose to the occasion by creatively coming up with virtual fundraisers. From partnering with Kendra Scott on a fundraiser benefiting the campaign to hosting our own version of a reality TV show, Chopped, we found new ways to help strengthen our communities.
We share in United Way’s mission and provide our employees with opportunities throughout the year to help make a difference for our communities. Through our TXM for Texas community affairs program, we empower our employees to share their talents and resources, and focus on supporting our neighbors in areas including workforce development, generational learning and disaster response.
By partnering with local agencies across the state, the United Way is able to identify the needs of our communities and effectively distribute resources to help solve meaningful issues such as access to quality child care, early childhood education and recovery efforts related to the COVID-19.
We’re proud to partner with United Way and over 100 nonprofits across the state to help build stronger and safer communities. By distributing 705 grants to organizations in 2020, we helped support critical work in COVID-19 relief and recovery efforts. Together, we’re continuing to step up for our communities by putting our mission into action and helping make a difference in the lives of Texans.
