Texas Mutual employees raise $90,733 for National MS Society
For the ninth year, Texas Mutual employees united around a shared mission – to help create a world without multiple sclerosis. We join the National MS Society in furthering their mission through our tradition of riding in the MS 150 and fundraising in support of multiple sclerosis research. Over the course of two days, our Texas Mutual cycling team joined over 7,000 cyclists for this year’s MS 150 ride, which featured a new route from Houston or Austin to Kyle Field at Texas A&M University. Whether on a bike, volunteering or through personal donations, our employees stepped up to help raise $90,733 for the National MS Society.
Our employees led fundraisers that built comradery and grew support for our campaign. We hosted our second annual pedal for pledges virtual event where riders from our Texas Mutual cycling team hopped on their stationary bikes to raise donations. Employees from across our offices cheered them on and showed their support by making donations to the riders. To help raise awareness for multiple sclerosis, we designed a new cycling team t-shirt for employees to show their Texas Mutual spirit for a great cause. We also teamed up with Tiff’s Treats and hosted a virtual raffle as opportunities for employees to give back.
We’re able to strengthen our support of the MS 150 each year with the help of sponsors who contribute to our fundraising efforts and whose logo appears on the back of our Texas Mutual cycling jerseys. We’re grateful to our longstanding sponsors including Argonaut Insurance, who we also partner with to cover workers in other states.
Since 2014, we’ve helped raise over $627,000 for critical multiple sclerosis research. It’s given many people affected by this disease, including some of our own employees, the opportunity to celebrate more birthdays and milestones with loved ones.
One of our community affairs focus areas is community building and that starts with empowering our employees to give back to causes they care about. Their passion for helping accelerate a cure for multiple sclerosis is part of our larger commitment to building a stronger, safer Texas. Together, with nonprofit partners like the National MS Society, we’re strengthening our communities and helping create meaningful change.
