The NSC released a new white paper through its Work to Zero initiative, which aims to prevent workplace fatalities. The report focuses on the use of data and AI to improve safety culture and prevent injuries. Three forms of machine learning are discussed, including computer vision technology, natural language processing and predictive and prescriptive analytics engines.

The 10 most dangerous occupations
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there were 5,190 fatal work injuries in 2021. Stand-down event for struck-by incidents begins April 17
The National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-By Incidents kicks off on April 17. The event is scheduled in conjunction with National Work Zone Awareness Week and aims to raise awareness of struck-by hazards and prevention methods. Employers can attend a webinar and find other related resources on the Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) website.
