Texas Mutual earns 2024 Best Place for Working Parents designation

Father with two kids

At Texas Mutual, we know that we can be the strongest for our customers and each other when our employees can maintain work-life harmony. We’re proud to announce that we’ve received the 2024 Best Place for Working Parents designation from Early Matters Greater Austin for the fourth consecutive year. This recognition reflects our family-friendly policies and practices that support our employees, specifically working parents.

We qualified for the competitive designation by completing a self-assessment and showing how we’ve implemented research-backed family-friendly workplace policies. The assessment evaluates 10 categories that are shown to benefit families and have a positive impact on the company’s profitability:

  • Company-paid health care coverage
  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Nursing benefits
  • “Best Place” designation
  • On-site child care
  • Child care assistance
  • Backup child care
  • Flexible hours
  • Working remotely

In addition to paid time off and flexible return-to-work schedules for new parents, we have implemented several other benefits over the last couple of years to support growing families. Texas Mutual employees currently have access to options like family leave to care for immediate family members, fertility benefits, adoption assistance benefits to help with the cost of fees and transportation, and an employee and family assistance program, which provides counseling and other support.

We share in Early Matters Greater Austin’s goal of supporting working families and that starts with our own employees. Benefits like these help us recruit and retain talented employees who help us be a force for good in our communities across the state. See how we're supporting working Texans now and for years to come, as part of our corporate citizenship strategy.
