Supporting families of catastrophically injured employees

For the fifth consecutive year, Texas Mutual was a platinum sponsor of the Kids’ Chance of Texas Golf Tournament in October to help raise funds for student scholarships. As the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation, we share in its mission of providing scholarships to the children of parents who were catastrophically or fatally injured in a workplace accident.

Kids’ Chance of Texas not only provides college funding, but also offers students emotional support along their educational journey. The organization offers online counseling to scholarship recipients and often sends gifts and cards during exam times for extra encouragement. Our employees share their passion for this great cause by supporting Kids’ Chance of Texas through volunteering and serving on its board of directors.

At Texas Mutual, we support the families of our policyholders’ employees who died from a workplace accident through our own scholarship program. Scholarship recipients can receive up to $6,600 for tuition, books and supplies. Since 2001, we’ve distributed over $2.8 million in college funds to qualifying family members of employees who died on the job or qualify for lifetime benefits.
