Texas Mutual employees raise over $160,000 for United Way
Through our nonprofit partnerships across the state, we're able to show up for our neighbors and build stronger, safer and more resilient communities. One way we help make a difference is by leading an annual fundraising campaign to advance the shared mission of our longstanding partner, United Way. Our employees raised an impressive $160,096 through creative fundraisers to help strengthen the communities where we live and work.
During the month-long campaign, our dedicated employees from across our offices engaged in various fundraisers that brought our teams closer together all while supporting essential programs and services for our neighbors. Our fundraising initiatives included the popular Chopped competition, a silent auction, sales of Texas Mutual and United Way-branded merchandise, and the return of our talent showcase, TXM's Got Talent. Employees showed their giving spirit by supporting their colleagues competing in fundraisers and making weekly online donations.
Our employees also got to learn more about United Way's mission and essential programs like Community Health Connect. This initiative brings together diverse groups of invested community members and organizational leaders to address health challenges in underserved areas of Williamson County. Through United Way's programs, including the 2-1-1 Navigation Center, Success by 6 Coalition and the Parenting Students Project, more than 60,000 children and families received access to live-changing resources in the last year.
We're proud to continue supporting United Way's important work along with over 300 nonprofit partners across the state that help us be a force for good. This year, we’ll be awarding $8 million in grants to Texas nonprofits through two Request for Proposal (RFP) initiatives focused on generational learning and workforce development. Together, we’re strengthening our communities, businesses and working families and showing up for those in need.
