Across the state, volunteer firefighters are protecting their communities. To support their day-to-day operations, these stations must turn to fundraising and grant programs to meet budget needs. These first responders embody a commitment to safety for all Texans, which an important mission of ours at Texas Mutual. We're proud to support them through our Emergency Responder Health and Wellness Grant program in partnership with the Volunteer Firemen's Insurance Service Inc. (VFIS of Texas).

In 2018, Texas Mutual awarded $130,000 in grants to first responders. Watch the story of one of the grant recipients, the Tanglewood Volunteer Fire Department, and see how the grant is helping them to build strength to better serve their community.
