Employees raise $44,159 for AHA Heart Walk through creative, virtual fundraising opportunities
Texas Mutual employees have come together for the past six years to support the American Heart Association’s (AHA) annual Heart and Stroke Walk in Austin. While this year’s event looked much different than previous years as it went digital, our employees still showed up with creative ways to raise $44,159 in support of heart-healthy communities.
Texas Mutual was recognized as one of the top fundraisers in this year’s first-ever digital Heart Walk, which took place on Saturday, October 24. Leading up to the event, employees engaged in spirited virtual competition to raise money for a cause that has impacted some of our own employees. Their stories, the stories of loved ones and the opportunity to walk for a healthier tomorrow inspired step challenges, Netflix watch parties, cutest pet and kid contests, raffles and more. Hundreds of employees supported the fundraising and 50 employees participated in the Heart Walk digital experience.
Through our TXM for Texas community program, we’re proud to continue to support the AHA’s mission and help touch the lives of so many in our communities who are affected by heart conditions. Together, we continue to do our part to build a stronger, safer Texas by encouraging others to adopt a heart-healthy lifestyle. Visit AHA’s site to learn more about their work in your community and to find resources like AHA’s My Life Check tool to help you assess your heart health.
