DOL announces over $12.7 million in available grants

The DOL is aiming to improve the availability of good jobs with more than $12.7 million in available funding through the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program. Three grant opportunities are available for organizations seeking to improve the safety and health of workplaces through training initiatives. Applications must be submitted by July 7.

DOL’s new public service announcement focuses on mental health

The DOL has published a new public service announcement (PSA) to help promote conversations around mental health in the workplace. The PSA is part of the department’s Mental Health at Work initiative and features real-life stories from employers and employees, perspectives from mental health experts and comments from the acting labor secretary.

A specific safety category is designated for each week in June to emphasize related hazards and controls.
