How our safety services team serves policyholders
At Texas Mutual, we’re on a mission to build a stronger, safer Texas and our safety services team is leading the way. As an agent, we know you work hard to guide your clients in protecting their business and we’re here to help. With more than 40 safety professionals located around the state and thousands of resources to share, we’re ready to assist policyholders in building safety programs, training employees, uncovering hazards and better protecting their workforce.
Safety resources
We offer thousands of online safety and training resources, exclusively for our policyholders, to help them expand their safety program and provide training to their employees.
- Webinars: Our safety team hosts quarterly 30-minute webinars on a variety of topics.
- Resource catalog: In 2020, we partnered with Zywave, an insurance tech industry leader, to launch a high-quality safety and risk management library where employers can download sample safety programs, toolbox talks and other training materials.
- e-Learning: In 2023, we partnered with SafetyNow to launch an e-Learning catalog filled with self-paced, interactive safety courses that can be assigned to employees.
- Discounted OSHA training: Through our partnership with SafetyNow, policyholders can also access discounted OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses.
College partnerships
To help make safety education accessible across the state, Texas Mutual partners with 11 colleges to offer free or discounted workplace safety and health courses to local businesses and their employees. Topics are tailored to the primary industries in the area, but often also include standard courses like OSHA outreach training and first aid.
Safety grants
Since 2016, we have awarded almost $10 million in policyholder safety grants. Grant funds go toward important ergonomic, safety, disease and illness prevention and industrial hygiene equipment to reduce or eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses. Agents and policyholders will receive notices in our monthly newsletters when grant opportunities are available.
Safety services consultants
We have knowledgeable, dedicated safety consultants in each region of Texas who can assist employers in reviewing their safety program, training employees, identifying potential hazards and more. Our consultants are available for on-site walk throughs, virtual meetings or even phone calls to help address safety concerns.
